Proposed Route:
Day 1: Heidelberg to Bonniedale Holiday Farm
Morning: Begin your journey in Heidelberg, a town steeped in history. Travel over Ertjiesvlei se Berg into the hidden valley known as "Land van Egypten," a region historically significant to early travellers.
Afternoon: Continue through the Plattekloof Pass to Kanetberg, turning west along the Langeberg to reach the farm Welgevonden. Traverse the Witblitz Pass, a historical smuggling route, to cross the Gouritz River.
Evening: Before reaching Cloetes Pass, turn left into Attaquaskloof. Explore the ruins of the old village Woeska, a site rich with history, before arriving at Bonniedale Holiday Farm for the night.
Overnight: Bonniedale Holiday Farm
Day 2: Bonniedale to Louvain Guest Farm
Morning: Due to the closure of the Cape Nature section of the Attaquas Pass, follow the historical wagon trail used by Isaac Schrijver in 1689 via the farm Hagelkraal (established in 1729) to Ruiterbos. Travel over the Robinson Pass (constructed in 1869) to Saffraansrivier, reconnecting with the Ox Wagon Route.
Afternoon: At Saffraansrivier, the trail turns left and right past Minwater to Volmoed, known historically as Poverty in 1779, renamed Armoed in the 1800s, and finally Volmoed in the 1900s. Continue to Kandelaarsrivier, crossing the R328, and then pass Mount Hope and Zebra before crossing the N12 to Heimersrivier.
Evening: Journey through Eseljagtpoort to cross the R62, arriving at Louvain Guest Farm for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Louvain Guest Farm to Burchell's Bush Camp
Morning: Depart from Louvain and traverse the Duiwelskop Ox Wagon Pass to Kleinplaas Forestry Station. This route offers stunning views and historical significance.
Afternoon: Follow Thomas Bain's Seven Passes Route, with an optional detour to the historical Millwood Gold Mine. Continue to the N2 at the Knysna River.
Evening: Just before reaching Knysna, turn off through the Gouna Forest to the Prince Alfred Pass, descending into De Vlugt. The day concludes with an overnight stay at Katot Meyer's Buchell Bush Camp or the nearby Outeniqua Trout Farm.
Overnight: Burchell's Bush Camp
Day 4: Burchell's Bush Camp and Return Options
Morning: Explore the Burchell's Ox Wagon Trail, which is rich in history and natural beauty, and finish at Katot's Bush Camp.
Afternoon: Conclude your adventure with multiple return options:
Continue to the Baviaanskloof, known for its dramatic landscapes.
Return to Oudtshoorn via back roads along the Kammanassie River.
Follow the R340 alongside the Paardekop Ox Wagon Trail to Plettenberg Bay.
